To mourn the passing of our most Gracious Sovereign Lady, Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Defender of the Faith.
The tenor bell tolled shortly after 7.30pm around the time of the interment of the late Queen in the King George VI Memorial Chapel at Windsor Castle, along side her late father King George VI, late mother Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, he late sister Princess Margaret and reunited with her beloved late husband of 73 years Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh.
'Now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace'
(The final ringing undertaken during this period of National Mourning. In total we have rung 60 times over the past 12 days, ringing at 10 different Churches plus the City Guildhall, and putting on 60 muffles - some have been put on twice, and we have included 18 ringers meaning that all our local ringers have rung for this historic occasion.)
