To mourn the passing of our most Gracious Sovereign Lady, Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Defender of the Faith.
‘Old Kate’ the City’s Curfew Bell cast in 1585 was tolled by the Civic Ringing Master at minute intervals – one toll for each year of her reign.
Tolled up to 7.30pm prior to the interment of the late Queen in the King George VI Memorial Chapel at Windsor Castle, along side her late father King George VI, late mother Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, he late sister Princess Margaret and reunited with her beloved late husband of 73 years Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh.
