To mourn the passing of our most Gracious Sovereign Lady, Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Defender of the Faith.
God Save the King.
Rung prior to the morning service with the bells fully muffled and the tenor open at backstroke. For the final bit of ringing diminishing rounds were rung ending up with the tenor tolling up to the service when a minutes silence was observed.
The last time these bells were fully muffled was in February 1952 upon the death of His Majesty King George VI, now the same honour has been given to his daughter Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Our Ringing Master Christopher Woodcock wishes to be associated with this ringing but did not ring due to health constraints.
