Tolled on ‘Gabriel’ (the fifth bell cast in the late 15th early 16th century and known as the announcing bell) as a mark of respect in memory of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Consort of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for 73 years, who died earlier today at Windsor Castle aged 99. Rung shortly after the news broke at 12 noon.
